Cerro Chapeu is a Bodega deep in the Uruguayan Pampas, on the border with Brazil. Here, nature reigns supreme, and PĂa and Piero Carrau, the newest generation leading Cerro Chapeu, treat their environment with the respect that their grandfather did when first planting the vines. Local flora and fauna thrive untouched, other than by the sheep who wander among the vineyards. The Arinarnoa grapes are planted in mineral rich, terracotta-red sand soil, imparting an earthy, savoury flavour to this fresh and juicy red wine. It’s left unfiltered - an embodiment of Cerro Chapeu’s minimal intervention philosophy. Serve chilled with slow lunches and loud dinners.
